Reagan R. Wilty - Associate
Reagan R. Wilty joined Smith & Fawer, LLC in 2013. Her practice since then has focused on insurance defense, commercial litigation, community property litigation, partnership dispute litigation, and general civil litigation. She also has experience in civil rights litigation, corporate transactions and formations, insurance coverage litigation, plaintiff personal injury, succession litigation, malicious prosecution, employment litigation, and domestic matters. Reagan has litigation experience in federal and state courts. She also has trial experience, has participated in a number of mediations and arbitrations, and has broad appellate experience.
Reagan graduated with honors from the University of Texas in Austin in 2009 with a bachelor degree in History and a Business Foundations certificate. After college, she lived in rural South Korea for six months, teaching English to grade school students. Thereafter, she attended Tulane University Law School. She served as Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law as well as a Senior Fellow for the Director of Legal Research & Writing 1L course program. Reagan graduated from Tulane magna cum laude in May 2013.
Prior to joining Smith & Fawer, LLC, Reagan served as a Judicial Intern for Hon. Fredericka Homburg Wicker, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Gretna, La. She also was a summer law clerk to the law firm Amini & Conant, LLP in Austin, Tx. During law school, Reagan worked for Smith & Fawer, LLC as a summer law clerk in 2012 and again as a law clerk in spring 2013.
Reagan is licensed to practice law throughout the State of Louisiana and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is originally from rural west Texas, where she still has strong family ties. She is active in her community as a member of the Algiers Point Association.
